Properties of self-supporting Grenaisol insulation board

Grenaisol is made of expanded vermiculite and a special inorganic binder. It is characterized by an ideal combination of insulating and mechanical properties.

Despite its low weight, it is strong enough to provide the necessary rigidity of the fireplace enclosure. It has a balanced temperature curve and it is easy machinable and harmless to health.

We are constantly developing our products, testing them in laboratories, and listening to customer reactions. That's why we have improved the Grenaisol boards and created a new concept with a perimeter frame. This frame increases the edge strength when handling and improves the precise joining of the boards.

Grenaisol boards can be combined with GRENATHERM and GRENACOAT systems.

Working with Grenaisol boards and their application

Working with Grenaisol boards is very simple. You do not need any supportive construction, all you need is the boards themselves, Grena Klebepaste glue and self-tapping screws that you screw in without pre-drilling. Thanks to the grooves on the Grenaisol surface you can simply apply thin-walled plaster which you can paint and tile with ceramic tiles.

The weight and dimensions of the boards allow you to handle and assemble it yourself. You can cut them with an electric or hand saw. It releases no fumes or smell even at high temperatures. Nothing will irritate your skin or mouth.

Only a minimum of dust particles are released during processing so the primer is not required before the final surface finish.

Grenaisol Pro - ideal solution for larger fireplace enclosures

Grena a.s. developed a special variant of Grenaisol boards, namely Grenaisol Pro, which are designed for easier and faster construction of high-quality fireplace casing and larger design enclosures, which become the dominant feature of the interior.

The size of these boards (600x1200, 800x1200 mm) enables comfortable design enclosure of even wide fireplace inserts.

Grenaisol Arcus - a simple way to create rounded shapes

Customers have requirements for different rounded fireplaces. For these cases we designed a special shaped part Grenaisol Arcus. With it you can easily create arcs with a radius from 175 mm.

The special lock on the panel ensures full insulation of the wall even at different range of arcs and therefore the wall of insulation is not weakened

Machining and processing Grenaisol

Grenaisol boards are easily machined with conventional woodworking tools. When working with them, there is minimal dust.

We recommend using proven Grenacoat materials to assemble and complete structures.
