Vermiculite is used mainly in garden as a supplement to the soil where the soil is too heavy, compacted or sticky. Adding special vermiculite creates special channels to aerate the substrate. Another characteristic of vermiculite is the ability to absorb and store water and release this water during droughts. It is also used in the case of sandy subsoil because it helps to keep water at the roots.

Unique properties of vermiculite are also used in breeding. Thanks to the ability to soak water, it is ideal as a substrate for hatching eggs of snakes, turtles, agams, geckos and other reptiles.
